Nearly one in five Canadian workers say they will never retire. The keys to a satisfying midlife career change include, giving our brain a workout by stretching outside our comfort zone to try new things, testing entrepreneurial ideas we’ve always longed to pursue, or exploring our potential by being of service to others. Julie, Barb and Jo have incorporated all of these keys in their own midlife reinventions.
Julie Hoflin had a career as an Executive Assistant & Project Coordinator spanning more than 20 years, until a car accident in 2006 changed her life forever. After realizing the best decision was to leave the fast-paced, structured work environment of the corporate world, she decided to launch her business as a Virtual Assistant. Often described as a “techie-creative,” Julie has spent the last 10 years working with Coaches, Speakers and the teams that support them with audio/video production, webinars & launches, membership sites and more.
Barb Ashcroftleft a busy career in banking to regain her health and be paid what she was worth. She’s emerged as a ‘Thought Leader’ having led a team of 1000’s, supporting others with their health and lifestyle goals. Barb is an author, mentor and workshop leader; helping people find their Top Fulfillment Needs so they can gauge their next steps. Barb’s business is Changing Lives with Hope, Health and Humour.
Jo Dibbleeis a breakthrough expert, eternal optimist, and change catalyst. But, most of all, she is dedicated to helping women live their legacy, and share their message and talents with the world. She currently lives on Vancouver Island and in Los Barriles, Mexico, and serving others is her thing. Nothing fills her cup more than helping others rise. Jo left corporate Canada in 2001 and has never looked back. Jo lives on full speed two of her favorite sayings, “Do it while you can!” and “Stand on your story, not in it.”
The Panel moderator, Jan Moore, is a Midlife Reinvention Coach, author and workshop facilitator, who helps baby boomers enjoy more travel, adventure, and creativity.
